Summer may be coming to an end but there is still plenty of sunshine to enjoy before the winter coats come out once again. Being in Cornwall, there are of course many places to walk and cycle in Bodmin. In fact, the town is the start of the Camel Trail which is a 28-mile cycling track which is almost completely flat and great for those who prefer a more leisurely cycle. Bodmin Moor also lies close to the north east of the town and is full of rambling walks up the granite tors of this wild landscape. Rough Tor near Camelford is also particularly breathtaking on a clear day and you can even see all the way to the north Cornish coast from this point.

If you are looking for something truly unique to do in the area, then Carnglaze Slate Caverns and Woodland Garden is perfect. Part of Cornwall's mining heritage and one of the top small tourist attractions in the county, Carnglaze Caverns is definitely one to add to the list when in Cornwall. Visitors can tour three gigantic caverns and explore 6.5 acres of shaded woodland that is said to be guarded by loyal dragons, boast an Enchanted Dell filled with faeries and be home to hobbits and other wondrous woodland creatures.
